Stupid things JWs say
by deanxxx inok we all say stupid things (probably on a daily basis in my case) but my mother (a jw) was told by another member that she doesn't have a conscience because anyone who smiles as much as she does simply can't have a conscience.
i bet you can guess the person who said it to her has a face like a wet weekend.. i guess the reasoning is: if you had a conscience you wouldn't have much to smile about because you'd be overwhelmed with guilt and worry.
what a load of old bollox that cult is eh?.

Something I use to do was quote the text " imitate those taking the lead among you", and then point out to whoever I was talking to that this does not necessarily mean the elders. -

Had to go to a JW funeral yesterday.
by Crazyguy init's amazing how ones shun former witnesses or faders.
a couple of people said high to me that know i do not go but the rest no.
but the main reason i post is how ridiculous the funeral talk was.

There was a funeral talk yesterday in the hall I used to go to, for an older sister who died. I did not attend. When I was a witness, I had a problem with always being positive towards other witnesses and saying to myself I have to love these people, that is the christian thing to do. I am getting over that now, and to be honest I did not like the sister who died, nor do I like her husband. They were fine people, but I just did not like them. And as Crazyguy says this emotional pushing of their doctrine is really unpleasant. The sad thing about this couple is that since they could not/cannot attend meetings or go in field service due to health reasons, he has terminal cancer in the final stages and she was suffering from dementia, and did not even know anymore how to do the most rudimentary of things, the congregation just basically dropped them. No elders visit to offer encouragement. The only people who did anything for them was an apostate ex JW and his in JW wife, in but very critical of the congregational elders. If I had gone, I am sure I would have come out fuming due to the hypocrisy.
I attended a funeral a couple of weeks ago in a Protestant church, for one of the people who were killed in the terrorist attack in Tunisia some time ago. The service was very respectful, the priest talked a little about the deceased and about the terrorist attack, and also praised the local population for the support they gave to the wife of the deceased who was shot in the beech. I do want to repeat the service was very respectful.

The Org is terrified of apostates
by SecretSlaveClass ini knew apostasy was a serious concern for the org, but until i watched this video, i had no idea how afraid they actually were.
all this guy wants is to do is not turn in his fs hours and immediately they (elders) set about drilling him about who are what influenced his decision, as if he was incapable of making his own (which as the elders confirm, in the org is highly discouraged).
they are convinced he has been communicating with apostates or visiting apostate web sites.

We all know, and nobody will deny that in years past under the communist system in the eastern block countries, the population were indoctrinated to the communist belief. Living in West Germany I have talked to many people from these lands, and generally God and such subjects are a none issue for many.
Why is that?
It is due to the indoctrination the population received. This indoctrination still goes on, even so in the western world, in the Islamic world, it does not matter where you are, the indoctrination is there in every society, this influencing of people. The difference in the so called democracies is to some extent you have freedom of choice, if you can see through the prethora of crap that is available.
Now this is the point I want to make, as every governmental form dictates the framework of that society, it is careful not to allow anything which can subvert the fundamentals of that society. So undoubtably the lawmakers and those involved have carefully scrutinized the literature from Jehovahs Witnesses, and come to the conclusion, that this literature is written in such a way as to influence people to make decisions that is against that society. Everybody who has come to know TTATT realizes how powerfully mind adjusting this literature really is.
I am please that the Governmental organization has concluded that this literature is counter-productive to maintaining a functioning society, because those who are influenced by this will make themselves enemies of that society.
Unfortunately, there is to my knowledge, no country, that through education, informs its populous how to cope with this mind altering material.

This play on words "mankind / kind of man", is really pathetic, because it does not work in other languages. -
